Trader Joe's All Natural Stew Meat

Trader Joe's "All Natural Stew Meat" comes at $4.99/lb.

I decided to try this meat one day for a beef stew I made.  I usually buy a roast and then cut it up into pieces to put in the stew.  This time I was making it in bulk and decided to buy the already cut up stew meat that is actually cheaper than the roast.

I put it in the crockpot with some water and it turned out great.  Very juicy and fresh tasting.

I love Trader Joe's meat standards.  Our friend, who works at Trader Joe's, once told me all about what "all natural" means to Trader Joe's and it is really good quality.  I will get all the information and post about that on here sometime soon.

In the end, I'd probably only use it for stews and soups.  But I love that it is so easy and already cut up - all while still maintaining the flavor of the product.

Super Easy Trader Joe's Roast

Here is the easiest recipe using Trader Joe's ingredients.  Best thing about it is that you just throw it all in the crock pot for a few hours and  it's done.

For 3 of us I use TJ's
  • Boneless Beef Tri Tip Roast (see note below) - salt and peppered
  • Gold Potatoes (3-4 potatoes cut in half)
  • Whole Carrots (4-5 carrots cut in 3's)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • On low for approx. 8 hours
I use one package of the roast for 2-3 meals (the additional meat goes great with curried lentils).  You can cut and freeze it.

We butter the potatoes and you can add sour cream if wanted.  We also made TJ's frozen green beans to go along with it - they are a staple around here!

Super easy meal!

Salmon Salad

This tasted amazing tonight...so easy.  And we will easily get 2 meals from all of this food.

All from Trader Joe's
  • Salmon ($6.99/lb) - one package can be used for 2 meals for us when putting it on a salad
  • Organic romaine lettuce ($2.89 for pack of 3)

  • Cucumber ($1.99 for extra long seedless)
  • Tomato ($.79 each)
  • Carrot ($.89/lb)
  • Dressing (I used a bit of TJ's raspberry vinaigrette along with some balsamic vinegar and olive oil)
